Three levels make the series adaptable to all learning situations, intervention programs, and differentiated instruction classes. Students follow a four-step process
to write thorough, accurate responses.
In each book:
- Nine lessons are divided among three units: science, social studies, and literature-the content areas found most often on standardized tests
- Graphic organizers are used extensively to help students organize their thoughts and writing
- Interactive lessons guide students through a four-step process:
- Read
- Plan
- Write
- Review and Edit
- Students use checklists to assess and revise their writing
- Students apply their skills with unit reviews and practice tests
The Teacher's Guide contains:
- A scope and sequence chart that shows readings by type and subject, and skills covered in each lesson
- An answer key with filled-in graphic organizers and sample answer essays
