Orientation to Adult Education (self-paced) (price $99)

Through this course you will gain valuable insight into the evolution of adult education; characteristics of adult learners; strategies for student recruitment, orientation, and intake; the role of the program manager as the instructional leader; program management basics; and professional development for you and your staff. You will investigate your local and state adult education agencies' policies and procedures.

Participants will:
  1. Explore the evolution of adult education into the comprehensive and diverse program it is today.
  2. Recognize the impact that adult learning characteristics play in planning and delivering effective educational services.
  3. Gain strategies for developing productive student recruitment campaigns and conducting learner-friendly orientation and intake.
  4. Examine the key elements in providing effective instructional leadership.
  5. Access resources, models, and guidelines for hiring and supervising staff, conducting program monitoring, overseeing a valid and reliable data management system, and providing fiscal accountability.
  6. Recognize the important role of professional development in creating a culture of continuous learning and program improvement.

Documentation: Certificate of Completion will document 6 hours as completion time.
