Who We Are

Our Mission
ProLiteracy champions the power of literacy to improve the lives of adults and their families, communities, and societies. We envision a world in which everyone can read, write, compute, and use technology to lead healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.

About Us
New Readers Press is a publishing division of ProLiteracy - the world's largest organization of adult basic education and literacy programs. For 40 years, we have been providing educators with the instructional tools they need to teach adult students and older teens the skills for functioning in the world today.

To ensure that our materials are based on sound instructional methodology, New Readers Press solicits feedback from educators during the development process. Our materials are available in a variety of media - program directors, teachers, and students can use the format that best suits their needs. Even our flagship publication, the weekly newspaper News for You, now delivers articles online with audio. Endeavor, the new reading and language arts series, is based on the latest evidence-based research.

We direct our proceeds from sales of materials to support literacy programs in the U.S. and worldwide.

We want to hear from you! Give us your feedback at nrp@proliteracy.org!

Information for Donors and Customers

ProLiteracy is grateful for your support, which enables us to continue our important work. When you donate to ProLiteracy or make a purchase online, your credit card information is secure through a reputable Internet SSL site.
